Kamera Avata memakai sensor CMOS 1/1.7 inci 12 MP dengan lensa setara 12,7 mm dan bidang pandang 155 derajat, bukaan f/2.8. Bidang pandang selebar itu membuat kecepatan terasa lebih tinggi pada rekaman, dan ruang sempit tetap tertangkap utuh. Peredam goyangnya mendukung RockSteady dan HorizonSteady, sehingga garis horizon tetap datar meski pesawatnya miring. Daya tahan terbangnya 18 menit per baterai dengan tautan sampai 10 km. Pelindung propeler menyatu dengan rangka, jadi benturan ringan ke dinding atau dahan tidak langsung menjatuhkan pesawat. Untuk terbang di dalam gudang, lorong, atau rumah kosong, sifat itu lebih menentukan daripada angka jangkauan.
