Sensor CMOS 1/2.7 inci pada DS-2CD3151G0-I merekam hingga 2560 × 1920, atau sekitar lima megapiksel. Bingkainya berbentuk 4:3, sehingga bidang pandang tegaknya lebih tinggi daripada kamera 16:9: 72 derajat tegak dan 99 derajat mendatar pada lensa 2,8 mm. Bila kamera dipasang tinggi di langit-langit, lantai di bawahnya ikut masuk bingkai. Iluminasi minimumnya 0,005 lux pada F1,6 untuk gambar berwarna, dan 0 lux dengan inframerah menyala. Lensanya tetap dengan dudukan M12, dipesan pada 2,8, 4, atau 6 mm. Lensa 6 mm menyempitkan bidang pandang ke 49 derajat mendatar dan memperpanjang jangkauan deteksi DORI hingga 128 meter, jadi cocok untuk halaman atau pagar yang jauh. Inframerah pintar menjangkau 40 meter pada panjang gelombang 850 nm. Kepala dome dapat diputar 0° sampai 355°, dimiringkan 0° sampai 75°, dan dirotasi 0° sampai 355°, sehingga arah bidik bisa disetel setelah terpasang. Aliran utama berjalan pada 20 bingkai per detik di resolusi penuh dan 25 sampai 30 bingkai pada 2560 × 1440 atau lebih rendah. Kompresi H.265+ dan H.264+ menekan ukuran rekaman, dengan laju bit 32 Kbps sampai 16 Mbps. Rentang dinamis 120 dB menjaga wajah tetap terbaca saat kamera menghadap pintu kaca. Analitiknya lintas garis dan penyusupan, dengan satu area ROI tetap. Sampai enam kanal tampilan langsung dapat dibuka bersamaan, dan antarmukanya mendukung ONVIF serta ISAPI. Daya masuk lewat 12 VDC atau PoE 802.3af kelas 3, dengan konsumsi maksimum 5 watt dan 6,5 watt. Bodinya logam dan plastik, berdiameter 110,8 mm, tinggi 84,7 mm, bobot 497 gram, peringkat IP67 dan IK10, serta bekerja pada suhu -30 °C sampai 60 °C. Tipe -I ini tidak punya mikrofon, jalur audio, slot kartu memori, maupun masukan dan keluaran alarm; semuanya tertulis di datasheet hanya untuk tipe berakhiran SF. Rekaman harus ditampung perekam di luar kamera, dan hasilnya bisu. Analitiknya terbatas pada lintas garis dan penyusupan, tanpa klasifikasi manusia dan kendaraan.
